Kinetico was founded in 1970 as the first and only non-electric water softener. It was designed using the science of the kinetic energy of water passing through. Hence, KINETICo! Our systems work by metering your water usage and going into regeneration on demand, as needed. Thereby eliminating the use of timers, motors, or computer parts, which can eventually fail unexpectedly and lead to costly repairs. While your system regenerates, it will use the capacity of it’s twin-tank to continue softening your water and preventing any hard water from entering your pipes.
Yes. To truly soften water and remove the hardness from it, you have to use salt. You can use a salt-free system, also called a water conditioner, which do not use salt but they will not reduce hardness in your water. They also will not treat iron. Those systems can prevent hardness from adhering to your pipes, but once exposed to air the water is the same hardness that it was going into the pipe.
Having two tanks gives you the ability to have soft water 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When your system needs to regenerate, it will begin using its other tank to provide soft water. Having a single tank system with a timer can lead to wasteful salt and water usage if your system regenerates before it truly needs to. Or, you can draw hard water into the home if your system needs to regenerate, but the timer hasn’t told it to yet.
With Kinetico, we like to keep it simple. With some of our softeners there is a filter before the softener that will periodically need changed. We make it easy enough for the homeowner to do themselves or we can send a technician. Our filters are also reusable 4x, and an inexpensive supply to replace. Our drinking water stations have sets of filters. All the filters are color coded and come with step-by-step instructions for replacing, or if you prefer, you can call us and schedule this service to be done for you.
Per our manufacturers warranty, your Kinetico system must be installed by our multi-level factory trained technicians.
